Historic house of the thirteenth century
The Relas, historic residence, is developed in a village of 1200, consisting of a medieval tower, a farmhouse and an ancient barn.
A few minutes from the artistic Florence and the medieval Calenzano, it rises in a medieval village of the XIII century, Poggio alla Pieve Relais.
Immersed in the most extraordinary Tuscan landscape, just a few minutes from the most important cities of art such as: Prato, Pistoia, Lucca. The structure of the parish churches constitutes the first form of organization of the territory after the end of the Ancient World and at the dawn of the Middle Ages.
Around the end of the 11th century, castles and towers are arranged on the territory and flanked the oldest religious organization of the parish churches. The Castle of Calenzano still retains the characteristic appearance of the fortified village, with an oval plan, typical of hill towns, enclosed by walls.
On the hill in front of the medieval village of Calenzano alto, stands the village of Poggio alla Pieve situated in a panoramic hilly position where a medieval tower, a barn, a swimming pool among the olive trees and the perfect maintenance of the complex, leaves no room for doubt: this is of a high-level accommodation facility.
In this naturalistic setting, an old farmhouse that belonged to our family since 1200, renovated in an eco-sustainable way, combining ancient finishes with modern insulation and air conditioning technologies, harmonizing medieval romanticism with the comforts of a structure devoted to excellence.
Poggio alla Pieve Relais is a true jewel of Tuscany and is located in a panoramic hilly position within the National Park of Monte Morello.
Behind the village extends a hill of cypresses that surrounds the entire property, where high natural boulders of alberese are immersed.
The property is surrounded by olive trees and the Giachetti Palchetti family continues the tradition that makes the oil of Poggio alla Pieve Relais one of the best in Tuscany.
The high level of the structure is confirmed by the victory of the international silver “Besto of Wine” award during the Ruralia event.
